Who? What? How?

My name is Jeisil Aguilar Santos

I have had the pleasure of sharing learning spaces with hundreds of students over the past 18 years—students from diverse disciplines, interests, and contexts. I have seen students grow and flourish, and I have also seen some walk away.
I have worked in methodological coordination, teaching, research, tutoring, and academic administration, and through all of it, I’ve discovered that curriculum design is what truly moves me.
Making the complex simple, helping learners understand their own processes, creating every day.
That path led me to imagine and create LearningMode.

Since this is a living project, I can only tell you what it is today, right now, as I write this.
Today, LearningMode (https://learningmode.ca) is a platform for play, learning, and creation.
It’s a space designed for educators, researchers, students, and anyone interested in understanding learning as a construction.

Principles Behind LearningMode

  1. Universal Design
Resources and spaces are created to be inclusive, accessible, and meaningful for diverse learners and contexts.
  2. Openness and Affordability
A commitment to open access and low-cost solutions, treating knowledge as a shared resource.
  3. Ethical and Creative Use of Generative AI
Leveraging AI tools to design interactive and engaging activities, always with a critical and ethical lens.
  4. Clear and Friendly Language
Complex ideas are explained in simple, approachable ways to support deeper understanding.
  5. Interactivity and Playfulness
Learning is seen as a playful, participatory, and transformative experience.
  6. Curriculum-Driven Design
Every resource is grounded in thoughtful pedagogical intent, focused on meaningful learning processes.

LearningMode has a sister project: proyectoacademico.com, in Spanish, my native language.

This is a living space; like any living being, it needs to be nourished and to grow.
